The Daily: Is Dubas Headed to Pittsburgh; Korchinski Goal in Loss

Published

on

The Toronto Maple Leafs were barely out of the playoffs before the rumor mill starting churning about its general manager’s future. Pittsburgh Hockey Now’s Dan Kingerski writes that Kyle Dubas to Pittsburgh seems too rational, so much so that there hasn’t been any real movement for the position.

That could all change soon Kingerski adds. The Penguins are an aging core and one that needs to re-think things. Dubas molded the Leafs and at least snapped the curse of not getting out of the first round. Of course, it could all be moot. The Leafs may bring Dubas back and it’s all speculation. Maybe Dubas will want to walk away from the constant pressure in Toronto, too.

Pittsburgh seems to be in wait and see mode. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Korchinski Scores but Thunderbirds Drop Game 1

Seattle feel to Winnipeg 3-2 Friday night but Blackhawks prospect Kevin Korchinski potted his second of the playoffs, pulling the Thunderbirds within a goal.

The ICE finished with four more points than Seattle in the regular season but the Thunderbirds were the superior team defensively. They keep the high scoring ICE to just three goals, but will need more if they want to tie the series tonight.
