The Daily: Blackhawks Prospects Ready for Memorial Cup Tonight

Published

on

It’s time for the Seattle Thunderbirds and its trio of Blackhawks prospects to begin the quest for the Memorial Cup. Tonight, Seattle will faceoff against Ontario Hockey League Champion Peterborough. The Thunderbirds are loaded with talent up and down the lineup, but interestingly, not even dynamo defenseman Kevin Korchinski was on the top-five players to watch on the squad by Sportsnet.

Colton Dach and Nolan Allan have also had strong performances in the playoffs, too.

Not that it should matter. The bonus hockey in the season will only provide more experience for the trio. It will also give them valuable minutes in pressure filled scenarios, no different than what they faced in the WHL Playoffs and even less than what they faced representing Team Canada in the World Juniors.

Obviously hoping for victory, the experience will only help Chicago’s prospects grow more.

Vegas Has a Chance To Close Things Out

The Vegas Golden Knights couldn’t finish the Stars off Thursday night but have the chance tonight. An interesting storyline with the strong play of Adin Hill is whether he’ll be a long term solution. If so, Vegas Hockey Now’s Dan Kingerski writes that Robin Lehner might be a buyout candidate if Hill indeed continues his strong play.

Hill has a chance to solidify his spot further with a win tonight.
