The Daily: US Loses Bronze at Worlds; Vegas-Dallas Tonight
The United States had a lead late in the third again. In a Groundhog Day like scenario, the Americans then lost that lead–and fell in overtime. After rolling through tournament play, the US hit a wall against both Germany and Latvia. It also spoiled another terrific effort from Rocco Grimaldi, who potted two goals in the loss. Canada would take the gold while the Germans skated away with the silver.
Down to the Memorial Cup and Game 6 with Vegas and Dallas
The Thunderbirds play again tonight for their second Memorial Cup while the Western Conference Finals resume for Vegas and Dallas. It’s getting to that point in the season where the hockey ceases and it’s a slow crawl to the NHL Draft. Dallas has secured the last two games after falling into a 3-0 hole. Is the pressure all on Vegas now heading back to Dallas? Vegas Hockey Now’s Dan Kingerski writes that tonight is about sending a message for the Golden Knights, who do not want to allow Dallas even a whiff of confidence.
