The Daily: Jake DeBrusk the Latest to Lead Trade Rumors

One NHL scout said that all eyes should be on Jake DeBrusk. Again, though it’s the quiet time of the offseason, some names are still stirring up trade rumors. According to Boston Hockey Now’s Jimmy Murphy, scouts and the league have locked onto watching DeBrusk as his impending free agency looms just less than a year from now.
“Everyone is going to be watching DeBrusk,” an NHL pro scout told Boston Hockey Now on Wednesday. “The Bruins need to know where they stand with him soon if they don’t already. If they’re going to enter the season without an extension, there needs to be some sort of mutual understanding because I think teams will line up for him next July.”
DeBrusk is interesting in that he now has consecutive 25-goal seasons and just now entering the prime of his career. Teams will be interested. The Bruins still have time.
What a fascinating watch. Meanwhile Buffalo Hockey Now points out that their depth may actually lead to some trades while LA Hockey Now goes player by player to reveal the untouchables on the roster.
