Blackhawks Daily: Utah Down To Six Names; Vosters Out

Published

on

Some Blackhawks news came across the wire just a few days before Game One of the Stanley Cup Final. The Chicago Blackhawks made a move in the broadcast booth, replacing Chris Vosters who was at the mic for the last two seasons. It was very hard for Vosters to come in and replace a guy like Pat Foley who is considered to be a legendary Chicago Blackhawks announcer. Vosters wasn’t always a popular pick with the fanbase, either.

Rick Ball is going to be his replacement after calling the Calgary Flames games for the last ten years. The Blackhawks opted for a veteran voice as they expect to rise out of a rebuild.

The Utah hockey club is getting close to naming a team. It is unclear whether or not they will name the club officially before the 2024-25 season kicks off or if they will play one season as “Utah”.

They have it narrowed down to six names. The Blizzard, Hockey Club (Utah HC), Mammoth, Outlaws, Venom, and Yeti are the finalists. It will be interesting to see how this shakes out as none of those names match the rest of the league. They are all, however, very fitting for the state of Utah.

This Utah franchise will be division rivals of the Blackhawks so Chicago fans will see them a lot going forward. Once they finally get a name, it can start to feel like a real team.

Blackhawks In Case You Missed It

Who to pick at #18? How about Michael Hage, who starred for the Chicago Steel and continues to rocket up the draft board.

The Chicago Blackhawks are looking to build a winning team. They should be going off of the path that Connor McDavid took to the Stanley Cup Final.

Kyle Davidson has a certain timetable for the Chicago Blackhawks. He needs to work hard to get to that.

The Chicago Blackhawks need to practice patience as they build back to being a contender. This off-season is really important for that.
