Blackhawks Daily: Winter Classic Tickets on Sale; Blues Up the Ante

Published

on

It’s the Chicago Blackhawks and the St. Louis Blues news on a beautiful June morning. Not only are Winter Classic tickets now on sale, but the Blues are trying to up the ante in a Central Division that could be a gauntlet in years to come.

The Winter Classic tickets are now available, featuring a New Years’ Eve tilt between the Blues and Blackhawks instead of a New Years Day bash. While the Blackhawks have made it known they’re intending to improve more this coming offseason, the Blues are also making moves of their own.

On Thursday, we learned a little bit about the future of Hockey Ops in the St. Louis Blues organization. They have extended Doug Armstrong as the President of Hockey Operations through the 2028-29 season. And that of course will directly impact the Chicago Blackhawks as they try to rise through an ever competitive Central Division.  The Blues named Alexander Steen to be an assistant to the General Manager. He will take over as the GM of the team in 2026.

Steen spent 12 seasons with the Blues and won a Cup with them in 2019 while still playing for the team.

One other division rival, the now Utah Hockey Club, released their jersey designs and colors Thursday.
