Blackhawks Daily: NHL Draft One Week Away; Cup Clincher Tonight?

Published

on

The 2024 NHL Draft is just a week away while the Stanley Cup Final could end tonight. The Blackhawks factor in all over the place, too.

It is time for Game Six of the Stanley Cup Final. Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers are looking to force Game Seven after trailing 3-0 in the series at one point. It has been marvelous seeing Edmonton make moves like this while Florida has failed to close it out twice.

The last game is always the hardest to win and both teams have laid it all out there up to this point. We will see how this game goes as multiple players can cement their legacy in this league with big performances over the next handful of days.

Once the Stanley Cup Final is over, the Chicago Blackhawks and the rest of the National Hockey League will focus on the 2024 NHL Draft. The San Jose Sharks are going to select Macklin Celebrini with the first overall pick and then the Chicago Blackhawks will begin the intrigue with the second pick.

There is a lot of discourse when it comes to the Blackhawks and who they are going to select in the draft. Will they take St. Petersburg’s Ivan Demidov or will they take Michigan State’s Artyom Levshunov? They could go with the high-flying offensive player or the big defenseman who skates like the wind.

There are even people out there who think they should go in a different direction entirely. Zeev Buium of Denver is a guy that many think can be the second-best player in the draft. The Hawks certainly want to find that player with their pick.

Kyle Davidson has mostly done good work since becoming the GM of the Chicago Blackhawks. He will be looking to add to that great resume when he makes the second overall pick in less than a week. Hitting on that pick would be huge for this team trying to build a winner around Connor Bedard.

Blackhawks In Case You Missed It

Tij Iginla and Zeev Buium are the latest prospects we are looking at for the 2024 NHL Draft. What about Cole Hutson, who grades out as a late first-round pick but might be more than analysts expect?

Can previous NHL Entry Drafts can help the Chicago Blackhawks decide who they are going to take second overall.

Tyler Bertuzzi is an intriguing name that could contribute to the Blackhawks. But does he check the boxes at the right price?

What about Steven Stamkos if he makes it to free agency? Short-term, big dollars, and goal-scoring with a championship pedigree. It should get a serious look from the Blackhawks.

Stanley Cup Final Coverage From Florida Hockey Now

Paul Maurice may not come out and say it, but the pressure is really on now for the Florida Panthers.

Evan Rodrigues has been the MVP of the Stanley Cup Final for the Florida Panthers.

Matthew Tkachuk put it all out there before Game 5, guaranteeing that they’d take the Cup. It didn’t work out, and he spoke to it after the game.
