Blackhawks Daily: Kane Re-Signs; Free Agent Frenzy
With the 2024 NHL Draft in the books, the Chicago Blackhawks must be pleased with how they did. They made three first-round selections and then made five total on day two.
Now, the league is headed into the next off-season phase, free agency. Everyone is looking to make their team better by adding players who are ready to move on from their previous teams. Some teams find steals and others overpay for players who proved worthy earlier in their careers.
We’ve already seen a few trades go down in light of free agency looming as well. Things will only get crazier as we get past 11 AM CT on Monday when the new window opens.
There are a few stars from around the league that are going to be available. Names like Steven Stamkos, Jeff Skinner, Adam Henrique, and Jonathan Marchesseault jump off the page at you. Those are only a few of the many impactful players who will be changing their address this week.
One name that already came off the free agency big board is former Chicago Blackhawks legend Patrick Kane. He has signed another one-year deal with the Detroit Red Wings. This time around, he is having a healthy off-season and will participate in a full training camp.
.The hope is that the Blackhawks are players on the free-agent market. They have some big-time holes on the roster and should be looking to have a more competitive roster in 2024-25. You don’t want Connor Bedard to start getting restless through a lot of losing.
