Blackhawks Daily: Free Agent Frenzy Hits Chicago

Published

on

Did Kyle Davidson ever live up to his word. A day later, the Blackhawks added seven new faces and a whole lot of other questions as to what’s next in Chicago.

That leads to three thoughts about what Davidson and the Blackhawks did and what could be next as free agency hits–day two. Between a roster glut or maybe a planned strategy to ease prospects paths to Chicago instead of rushing it.

But for as much as the Hawks did, the Central Division got stronger, too. Nashville went nuts, signing Steven Stamkos and Jonathan Marchesseault. As per usual, the league saw names shift.

So today’s Daily is a look at what happened–because there’s a heck of a lot to catch up on.

Chicago Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks added Tyler Bertuzzi who is a nice forward that plays with an edge to his game.

Alec Martinez, who was once a big-time foe, is coming to the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Chicago Blackhawks decided that bringing Teuvo Teravainen back was necessary for them and their overall development.

Pat Maroon will be a wonderful veteran presence for the Chicago Blackhawks.

Laurent Brossoit was acquired to be a backup goalie for the Chicago Blackhawks.

Chicago felt the need to add another depth defenseman in TJ Brodie.
