The Gold Medal Game took place for Men’s Basketball on Saturday afternoon and it was a great game between the United States and France. Team USA, led by generational players, won the Gold once again. 

It was a very nice story for a player like Steph Curry who, despite being one of the ten greatest basketball players of all time, has never won an Olympic Gold Medal. Despite all of Team USA’s historic success, Curry wasn’t a part of it until this time around.

This event made it exciting for hockey fans to think about the Winter Olympics in 2026. It has been a while since NHL players appeared in the games but this time around they will be there in Milan, Italy.

There is even a story like Curry as Steven Stamkos, an all-time great NHL player, has never won a Gold Medal. Canada has won Gold multiple times but Stamkos hasn’t been able to be a part of any of those teams. Winning it in 2026 would be a great accomplishment to add to his career.

The Chicago Blackhawks would have nothing but excitement with the Winter Olympics either. By 2026, Connor Bedard will be a huge part of Team Canada who will come into the tournament as favorites to win the Gold Medal.

There is also hope that Team USA could finally get it done this time around. It has been a long time (1980). Guys like Auston Matthews, Jack Eichel, Matthew Tkachuk, and Jack Hughes will play a big role in that getting done.
