Blackhawks Daily: Taylor Hall Update; Gabriel Landeskog’s Status

The Chicago Blackhawks traded for Taylor Hall last summer in an attempt to get Connor Bedard to hit the ground running in the NHL. Well, Hall only stayed on the ice for ten games before having a season-ending injury.
Hall is a former number-one pick himself and has had a great NHL career. That includes a Hart Trophy as a league MVP. Now, he is just trying to remain a consistent contributor in the league.
According to Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times, the Hawks believe that Hall is going to be ready to go by the start of the season following that ACL injury.
He also believes that changing his game a little bit is going to help him become a solid contributor in the league again, this time for Chicago.

Hall’s very first team, the Edmonton Oilers, is also in the news right now. They made a trade with the San Jose Sharks official late on Sunday night. They traded Cody Ceci and a 2025 third-round pick to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for defenseman Ty Emberson.

Is it strange that they made a trade late at night in the middle of August? Normally, yes. However, the St. Louis Blues just hit the Edmonton Oilers with two offer sheets last week. They are going to have to pay Philip Broberg and/or Dylan Holloway more than they wanted if they are going to keep them.
Well, getting Ceci’s $3.25 million off the salary cap books will help them with at least one of those. It will be interesting now to see if they can keep their guys. Regardless of what happens, the Oilers are going to remain amongst the Stanley Cup favorites but they’d be even better if Broberg and Holloway stuck around.
Things are starting to heat up around the NHL. National Hockey Now has quite a few stories that will keep things interesting until training camps get going in a few weeks:
