Levshunov highlights Tom Kurvers Prospect Showcase Roster for Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks announced the 2024 Tom Kurvers Prospect Showcase schedule and roster for the team heading to St. Louis next week.

The Blackhawks roster highlights 2024 draft picks Artyom Levshunov, Ty Henry and AJ Spellacy.

Additionally the group includes Frank Nazar, Colton Dach, Gavin Hayes, Nick Lardis, Paul Ludwinski, Jalen Luypen, Marcel Marcel, Martin Misiak, Alex Pharand, Ryder Rolston, Samuel Savoie, Landon Slaggert, Nolan Allan, Lucas Brenton, Ethan Del Mastro, Wyatt Kennedy, Tnias Mathurin, Drew Commesso and Ben Gaudreau.

Levshunov, drafted second overall by the Hawks this summer, obviously highlights the roster heading to St. Louis. One interesting element to see will be who Levshunov plays with.

Pairing Levshunov with Ethan Del Mastro makes the most sense for the team. The two could get a good amount of playing time together in Rockford this season.

With IceHogs’ head coach Anders Sorensen and his staff overseeing practices and games and the showcase, getting an early look at the pairing of Levshunov and Del Mastro could benefit the organization.

Nazar should play a prominent role for the offense at the tournament. This will be Nazar’s first opportunity to show he can make it in the NHL this season.

The Blackhawks schedule at the Tom Kurvers Prospect Showcase:

Wednesday, Sept. 11

11am: Practice, Fifth Third Arena

Thursday, Sept. 12

10am – 12pm: Practice, Fifth Third Arena

Friday, Sept. 13

7:00pm: Game vs. St. Louis Blues – USA Rink

Saturday, Sept. 14

Last year’s prospect showcase gave Blackhawks fans their first opportunity to see Connor Bedard in action. Bedard shined at the showcase, scoring three goals and registering an assist in a 5-0 win against the Blues.

While no prospect will bring about as much excitement as Bedard did in 2023, this year’s showcase should be fun to watch. Can Nazar really be a difference maker? Can Commesso shine again? Last year Commesso quietly preserved a shutout in Bedard’s hat trick game.
