Blackhawks Daily: Prospect Showcase Dates; Crosby’s Next Contract

The Chicago Blackhawks are back this week. Well, sort of. They are going to begin the Tom Kurver’s Prospect Challenge later in the week after a few days of practice.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the prospects are going to have practice at Fifth Third Arena in Chicago. On Friday, they will head down to play the St. Louis Blues prospects in St. Louis. One night later, Chicago will play the Minnesota Wild prospects in the same city of St. Louis.

This is a great way for the prospects that aren’t playing college hockey some early action as they get ready for their seasons. Some of them will play in the AHL or NHL and some of them will head to play major junior.

Some of the NHL stars are in Vegas to do some media-related activities. One of the most important news pieces to come from that so far is the tip Sidney Crosby gave to the media about his upcoming contract negotiation.
