Blackhawks Daily: Finishing Prospect Showcase; Crosby Speaks

The Chicago Blackhawks prospects played in game two of the Tom Kurver’s Prospect Showcase on Saturday night in St. Louis. They defeated the Minnesota Wild prospects 4-2.
The Blackhawks found a way to win this back-and-forth affair thanks to some great physicality, playmaking, and goal-scoring from up and down the lineup. It was a true team win.
They went 1-0-1 in the event as they lost to the St. Louis Blues prospects in overtime of game one a night prior. All around, the Chicago Blackhawks had a few players stick out above the rest which is exactly what they’re trying to do at this stage of their careers.
Some guys deserve extra praise, even those who some might not have heard of yet. That applies to AJ Spellacy who was monumentally good in game one against St. Louis.
Now that this is over, fans can look forward to training camp beginning in a few days. After that gets going, the preseason won’t be far behind.
At this point, people have to be happy with what they’ve seen from the prospects. Even without Artyom Levshunov, Oliver Moore, and Sacha Boisvert amongst others playing for varying reasons, this group looked great. It is only a matter of time before a lot of these guys are making a major impact in pro hockey.
