Blackhawks Daily: Preseason Opening Loss, Teravainen, Kaprizov
The Chicago Blackhawks kicked off the preseason with a loss to the Detroit Red Wings last night. Entering the third period tied at 2, Chicago gave up two third period goals with one on the power play to end the night.
The Blackhawks announced last night’s attendance at 10,354, the 300 level was closed tonight so the lower bowl looked pretty filled throughout the night.
Before puck drop, the Blackhawks released a pretty cool promo video worth highlighting:

Blackhawks fall 4-2 to Red Wings:
The Blackhawks first game of the preseason wasn’t great, as Bedard himself said there was sloppy plays on both ends of the ice. Chicago won’t have to wait long to get back on the ice with another matchup with Detroit on Friday on the road.
Teravainen scores in preseason debut:
Teuvo Teravainen scored the Hawks second goal of the night midway through the first period. Teravainen and Bedard had some good moments playing together, as the preseason progresses that line will be one to watch.
Teravainen enjoyed playing with Bedard to start the preseason.
“It’s been fun,” Teravainen said. “I don’t think we had a pretty good game today, but small little things.. Whenever we get the puck in the o-zone there are some quick little passes and get a chance right away. That was probably one of the only good things we did in that game, but lot of learners. We are ready to learn.”
Chicago went 0-4 on the power play, with each subsequent time on the man-advantage generating less and less. Teravainen did have a good scoring chance during the Hawks first power play of the night.
“We had a couple of good shots there,” Teravainen said. “At the end I just feel like the puck started bouncing and maybe we were a little bit too slow.”
Over the past 48 hours, the rumor mill started to rumble about news of Kirill Kaprizov and the Chicago Blackhawks. The Athletic’s Mark Lazerus clarified the situation yesterday morning in a tweet:
Let me clarify, please: I reported back in June that the Blackhawks see Kaprizov as a potential big add in two years, this generation's Marian Hossa, so to speak. Is Kaprizov intrigued by the possibility? Sure. Does he "want" it now? No. I misspoke extemporaneously on the pod. https://t.co/Khc8t16tpC

Continuing:
In short: The Blackhawks have their eye on Kaprizov in two years, not the other way around.

To clarify any rumors out there, the Blackhawks have their eye on Kaprizov when his contract expires in two years, not the other way around.
