Blackhawks Daily: Live Stream of Tonight’s Game, Doughty Injury

The Chicago Blackhawks are heading to St. Louis tonight for the team’s third game of the preseason. While the first two haven’t gone their way, Chicago will face a new opponent after dropping two games to the Detroit Red Wings.

Last night’s preseason 2-0 loss to the Red Wings did not show many positives for the Hawks. With a lineup filled with young players trying to show they can play in the NHL, few really stood out. Out of everyone in the lineup, Colton Dach did show some promise against the Wings, registering two shots on goal and dishing out five hits.

Tonight’s game in St. Louis will also be the final game aired on the team’s website and app before the Chicago Sports Network (CHSN) takes over on Oct. 1. For fans still waiting to see if their cable provider will carry CHSN, unfortunately there is no update yet on that front.

The preseason is a big moment for guys like Dach trying to prove he can play in the NHL, but the preseason can also be costly for teams if injuries arise.

Take for example the Los Angeles Kings. Kings defenseman Drew Doughty is considered month-to-month following an ankle injury that occurred on Wednesday.

During the Kings’ 3-2 win over the Golden Knights, Doughty fractured his left ankle in the first period.

The Kings have lost in the first round the last three seasons. The organization had hoped to take another step forward this season in a Pacific Division that continues to get tougher.

Losing Doughty for an extended period of time is detrimental, and it’s unfortunate that an injury like that occurred in the preseason.
