Blackhawks lose to Wild 6-1, giving up two goals in four seconds
The Chicago Blackhawks lost to the Minnesota Wild in their final home game at the United Center of the preseason.

The Chicago Blackhawks and Minnesota Wild played for the second time this week on Friday night, with the Wild picking up yet another win against the Hawks.
The Minnesota Wild outplayed the Blackhawks yet again, beating Chicago 6 to 1, including two goals just four seconds apart.
For the Hawks, this was the second to last preseason game, and with an 0-3-1 record going into the night, it was important the team give fans some reasons to be excited for the new year. That did not happen on Friday night.
While it is important to not put too much stock on preseason performances, the Blackhawks have been outplayed in every game so far.
First Period:
Pat Maroon took a slashing and unsportsmanlike conduct penalty away from the play early in the first period. Maroon’s penalty would end up being costly as Marco Rossi would score on the man advantage.
Just four seconds later, Jonas Brodin scored from center ice, Petr Mrazek mishandled the puck.

Second Period:
Seth Jones got the Blackhawks on the board late in the second period with a 4-on-4 goal with a little over a minute left in the period.

The Blackhawks have struggled through two periods to get much going. Blackhawks captain Nick Foligno and his line with Jason Dickinson and Joey Anderson have looked the strongest. In the second, Foligno had a great steal entering the offensive zone and drew a penalty shortly after. It will be interesting to see the new Hawks captain in the regular season.
Third Period:
Two early goals by the Wild in the third period gave Minnesota a four goal lead thanks to Faber and Johansson. Kirill Kaprizov also got on the board with just under 12 minutes left. Seeing fans start to exit with 12 minutes left might not be the best way to end the Hawks preseason.
The Blackhawks will be back in action tomorrow in Milwaukee for a special ‘home’ game against the St. Louis Blues.
