Blackhawks Make AHL Call-Ups For Final Preseason Match

The Chicago Blackhawks are getting set for their final preseason match of the season. They are going to take on the St. Louis Blues. This is Chicago’s “Home Away From Home” game taking place at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Deer District, normally an NBA hot spot, is sure to be celebrating the NHL ahead of the 2024-25 season.
For certain players on the team to take a rest and be ready for game one of the regular season on Tuesday against the Utah Hockey Club, the Chicago Blackhawks made a handful of short-term AHL call-ups. With the first game being the first of a four-game road trip to begin the season, this is a smart move by Chicago.
Louis Crevier, Colton Dach, Ethan Del Mastro, Cole Guttman, Kevin Korchinski, Frank Nazar, Zach Sanford, Samuel Savoie, and Landon Slaggert have all been called up from the Rockford Ice Hogs. In addition, they have signed Austin Strand to a PTO.
All of the AHL guys, who were sent down earlier this week, are expected to be immediately sent down after this game is over. They will return to Rockford on Sunday.
For guys like Frank Nazar and Kevin Korchinski, this is a chance for them to feel good about their games while playing in NHL sweaters. We will also see eventually what happens to guys like Ethan Del Mastro and Colton Dach who very well could get a look this season.
Playing in this special game that can be seen both locally and nationally is a great opportunity for these guys to show what they can do. It would also help them all build some confidence heading into their AHL season with Rockford. Who wants to be the first called up when there is an injury? Now is a great chance for all of these players to prove why it should be them.
