The Chicago Blackhawks started the 2024-25 NHL Season with a tough matchup in Utah. With the Utah Hockey Club looking to make a good first impression, the Hawks started the season on the wrong side of history losing 5-2 in Utah’s inaugural NHL game.

With the loss, the Blackhawks head to Winnipeg for another road game on Friday night. The Blackhawks will be catching the Winnipeg Jets in their home opener on Friday. Tonight Winnipeg will head to Edmonton so Blackhawks fans looking to scout the opponent keep an eye on that game.

Tuesday night was an historic night around the NHL. Utah Hockey Club played their first game, with Dylan Guenther scoring Utah’s first goal as a franchise.

Utah wasn’t the only history makers on Tuesday as the Seattle Kraken made history as well.

History in Seattle:

The Seattle Kraken started the 2024-25 NHL Regular Season as the first game on Tuesday. While Seattle lost the opening night contest 3-2, the Kraken did make history as Kraken assistant coach Jessica Campbell became the first woman to coach in the NHL.
