Caught in the shuffle of a busy opening night for the Chicago Blackhawks was the fact that Nolan Allan made his NHL Debut.

Allan, 21, was drafted 32nd overall by the Blackhawks in 2021. It was an up course battle for Allan to make the opening night roster – with plenty of other defensemen with more experience entering training camp.

Allan had a fine first game in the NHL. While there is a chance he might slide out of the lineup when Wyatt Kaiser is healthy, Allan should be proud of the training camp and preseason he had.

Another fun piece of Tuesday night’s game lost in the shuffle involves Connor Bedard’s special attempt at The Michigan.

Bedard attempting The Michigan while down by one goal in the third period is definitely a bold move. Hopefully the former first overall pick entering his sophomore season can continue to make bold moves all year long.

A number of NHL team’s played their opening night game’s on Wednesday. The Penguins were shut out at home against the New York Rangers and the Montreal Canadiens scored the lone goal in a matchup against Toronto.
