The Blackhawks and Oilers games have had an extra level of noise ever since Connor Bedard was drafted. Now, it isn’t just Chicago vs Edmonton, its Connor vs Connor – and Bedard came to play in Edmonton scoring his first goal of the season.
Bedard has definitely showed up to play in the Connor vs Connor showdown. https://t.co/tqLBoOIPGs

After the Blackhawks opening night loss to Utah, head coach Luke Richardson spoke of the importance of getting shots to the net – especially on the power play. Chicago did just that with their second power play, rather than focusing on the perfect shot, Teravainen got the puck to the net and was rewarded.

Takeaways:
While it is still early in the season, the Blackhawks needed this win. Chicago was a perfect three for three on the power play and everything clicked. Facing a tough Oilers team motivated from a 6-0 loss to Winnipeg earlier this week, Chicago played the right way to win their first of the year. With three points tonight – including a goal, Bedard now has five points on the year.
