Blackhawks at Avalanche: Players to watch, notes, predictions

Tonight the Chicago Blackhawks head to Colorado for what should be a tough test against the Avalanche.

The Chicago Blackhawks (2-6-1) visit the Colorado Avalanche (5-4-0) in a Central Division clash in Colorado.

The Blackhawks visit Colorado trying to end a four game losing streak. While Chicago has been in a lot of games down to the wire, the 2-6-1 result does not leave much to be excited about. Colorado on the other hand seems to have found their footing – entering tonight’s game on a five game win streak after dropping the first four of the season.

Colorado Avalanche Leaders:

Points: Cale Makar (16)
Goals: Ross Colton (8)
Assists: Cale Makar (16)
Shots: Nathan MacKinnon (35)
TOI:Cale Makar (24:13)

2023-24 Results vs Colorado:

10/19/2023 4-0, L Ball Arena
12/19/2023 3-2, W United Center
2/29/2024 5-0, L Ball Arena
3/4/2024 5-0, L United Center

Players to watch tonight:

Connor Bedard enters tonight’s game with goals in back to back games. Bedard has started to see a host of different linemates on his wings and tonight is no different with Philipp Kurashev expected to play alongside Bedard and Teravainen. The Hawks have struggled offensively this season, and its time the Hawks top line to produce more offensively.

Tyler Bertuzzi has just two points in the Blackhawks first nine games this season. Bertuzzi was a big add for the Hawks this offseason and has not produce a lot offensively up to this point Last game was especially tough for Bertuzzi with no shots on goal. Tonight could be a big game for Bertuzzi to turn things on and get going.

Notes for the Blackhawks:

It is no secret the Blackhawks have struggled as of late. Currently on a four game losing streak, things can turn from bad to worse depending on how the Hawks respond tonight. Dallas was not a good showing – let’s see how tonight goes.

Prediction for tonight’s Blackhawks game:

Tonight’s prediction is just relating to the start of the game. Tonight the Hawks will score the first goal coming out flying in the first period.
