Blackhawks Notes:
No real surprises when it comes to the Blackhawks projected lines tonight. Tonight’s game has a little bit of extra importance for the Hawks. The Blackhawks have an opportunity to do something never before seen in the Connor Bedard era — win three games in a row. The Hawks had just three sets of back to back wins last season and two ended with shutout losses. Let’s see how the Hawks look tonight.
Keys to Success:
The Blackhawks need some scoring from the top six tonight. Ryan Donato, playing on the Hawks top line on Sunday, gave Chicago a 4-1 lead. Isaak Phillips opening goal of the game also came with assists from Connor Bedard and Taylor Hall.
The night prior, the Blackhawks had goals from Nick Foligno and Tyler Bertuzzi. The Blackhawks need their top six to find the back of the net.
Last year in both of the Red Wings wins over Chicago, Detroit dominated the faceoff dot. Faceoffs have been a real struggle for the Hawks all season, but Sunday against Anaheim saw Chicago win 49.1 percent of the draws. If the Hawks can establish possession with faceoffs tonight they should be in a good position.
