Blackhawks Locker Room: Players react after offensive explosion

Connor Bedard #98, of the Chicago Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks offense showed up against the Dallas Stars on Wednesday night, with the Blackhawks getting a big 6-2 win over the Stars. Three big milestones capped off the win, with Taylor Hall registering a hat trick, his first since 2013, Connor Bedard breaking a month long goal-less streak and Louis Crevier scoring his first NHL goal.

With so many positives, here is a look in the Blackhawks locker room after a 6-2 win over the Dallas Stars.

Connor Bedard has dominated at every level he has ever played at. This past month of hockey has been arguably his most trying time in the NHL. After scoring his fourth goal of the season, Bedard was all smiles talking postgame.

“It’s kind of a relief, it’s been a month,” Bedard said. “I don’t know if I have had a stretch like that in my life, it felt good to see one go in.”

You could see the relief on Bedard’s face after the power play goal in the second period. Not only was it memorable to finally find the back of the net, Bedard managed to score a pretty nice highlight reel goal, beating Casey DeSmith with a quick snipe.

For Bedard, it didn’t matter how he found the back of the net, as long as it went in.

“I didn’t care how one went in to be completely honest,” he said. “I would have taken it off the face. However it was going in, it’s nice. It feels good.”

Another Blackhawk long overdue for a good night also got going against the Dallas Stars. Taylor Hall registered his fifth NHL hat trick and his first since Dec. 5, 2013. Hall has registered five hat tricks in his NHL career, including one against the Chicago Blackhawks in November 2011 while a member of the Edmonton Oilers.

“I scored a hat trick against the Hawks and now I have scored one for them,” Hall said. “Not a lot of guys in the league can say that. I’m pretty happy about it, and obviously more than anything a big win for our team.”

Another Blackhawk happy after tonight’s win was Louis Crevier. Crevier registered his first NHL goal. The 23-year-old was drafted in the seventh round of the 2020 NHL Draft and has stepped up to the plate in the absence of Seth Jones. Crevier was flying high after the win.

“I have been waiting a long time, it’s awesome,” said Crevier.

The Blackhawks all of a sudden find themselves on a three game point streak, going 2-0-1 in their last three outings. Flying high off of Chicago’s three game point streak, Bedard spoke of the need to continue to improve.

“So many games, you can’t look at a three game stretch top much,” Bedard said. “For us we have to keep building on what we are doing well and try to improve what we are not. Obviously its good to have a little stretch like that, but it doesn’t mean much if we go and lose a couple here.”
