The Chicago Blackhawks kick off their three-game road trip at the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight. These two squads just met at the United Center last Friday, with the Lightning taking a 4-3 overtime win after a dominating third period. If you recall, the youngsters led the way that night, with Colton Dach, Frank Nazar, and Louis Crevier scoring goals.

The Lightning are 13-1-1 against the Blackhawks since the start of the 2019-20 season. Tonight’s starting goaltender, Andrei Vasilevskiy, has never lost to Chicago, going 13-0-0 with a .930 save percentage (SV%). Brayden Point has done his damage in 22 career games with 12 goals and 30 points.

According to Mark Lazerus, Nikita Kucherov took a spill during morning skate, leaving the ice in pain. However, head coach Jon Cooper said his superstar is OK and will play tonight. The Lightning will be without physical defenseman Emil Lilleberg, who is serving a two-game suspension for a hit to the head of Detroit Red Wings forward J.T. Compher.

Landon Slaggert, who was recalled from the Rockford IceHogs on Sunday,  will make his season debut for the Blackhawks tonight. He had a goal and four points in 16 games for the Blackhawks last season. Defenseman T.J. Brodie will return to the lineup after being a healthy scratch against the Minnesota Wild. Dach and Nolan Allan will come out.
