- The St. Louis Blues general manager met with the media on Tuesday. He revealed that the team does not expect injured defenseman Torey Krug to play again. Krug had surgery in September to address pre-arthritic changes in his left ankle. Armstrong said Krug has only recently resumed normal day-to-day activities.

- Tuesday was all about the come-from-behind victory in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. First, the Carolina Hurricanes entered the third period down 1-0 to the Washington Capitals. After Logan Stankoven tied the game midway through the final frame, Jaccob Slavin won it for the visitors three minutes into overtime. Goaltender Logan Thompson was the biggest reason the Capitals even had a chance to win Game 1, as the Hurricanes finished with a 33-14 advantage in shots on goal.
- The Vegas Golden Knights had to play Game 1 against the Edmonton Oilers without the services of forward Pavel Dorofeyev (injury) and defenseman Alex Pietrangelo (illness). This didn’t seem like a problem as Mark Stone scored twice in the first period to give Vegas an early 2-0 lead. However, the Oilers scored the final four goals to earn a 4-2 win and a 1-0 series lead. They scored three goals in the third period, outscoring their opponents 17-6 in the postseason.
- Tonight’s schedule includes Game 2 between the Maple Leafs and Panthers at 6. The night cap will be the opening game between the Winnipeg Jets and Dallas Stars at 8:30.
