Blackhawks Game Day
Blackhawks vs. Blues: Preview, Projected Lineups, How To Watch, & More
The Chicago Blackhawks (1-2-1) are back on the road following their brief two-game homestand and face off with the St. Louis Blues (2-1-0) at the Enterprise Center on Wednesday night.
Last time out, the Blackhawks earned their first victory of the 2025-26 season, defeating the Utah Mammoth 3-1 at the United Center. Ilya Mikheyev scored two of the team’s three goals, Andre Burakovsky netted the game-winner in his 700th career NHL game, and Spencer Knight stopped 22 of the 23 shots faced. It wasn’t the prettiest performance, with only 14 shots on goal recorded in the game, but the Hawks picked up a much-needed win.
Through the Blackhawks’ opening four games, Frank Nazar (1G, 4A) and Teuvo Teravainen (1G, 4A) are the team’s leading point scorers with five points. Nazar had his season-opening point streak snapped against Utah on Monday. Teravainen tallied an assist on Mikheyev’s empty-netter and now has three assists in the past two contests.
After a 5-0 drubbing at the hands of the Minnesota Wild in their season opener, the Blues have won back-to-back games entering Wednesday. St. Louis defeated the Calgary Flames 4-2 and the Vancouver Canucks 5-2 during their brief two-game road trip.
Blues’ 2022 first-round pick Jimmy Snuggerud scored his first two goals of the season in the team’s victory over the Canucks on Monday. Snuggerud is tied with Jake Neighbors for the team lead in points through the first three games. Brayden Schenn (1G, 1A), Robert Thomas (1G, 1A), Pavel Buchnevich (2A), and Nathan Walker (2A) each have two points.
Here’s everything to note before the puck drops tonight in St. Louis at 8:30 p.m. CT.
Blackhawks Regular Season Notes
- The Blackhawks began the 2025-26 regular season with a 3-2 loss to the two-time defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers. Frank Nazar, Teuvo Teravainen, and Tyler Bertuzzi each tallied two points in the loss.
- Connor Bedard and Frank Nazar were stymied by Bruins goaltender Joonas Korpisalo in overtime, leading to a 4-3 (OT) loss in Boston during their second game of the year. The Blackhawks let one slip out of their grasp at TD Garden.
- In the home opener at the United Center, Kaiden Guhle scored the game-winning goal with only 15 seconds left in the third period. That gave the Blackhawks three consecutive losses to begin the season.
- FINALLY, Jeff Blashill got his first win as the Blackhawks’ new head coach with a 3-1 victory over the Utah Mammoth on Monday night. Ilya Mikheyev led the way with two goals, while Spencer Knight was excellent once again in net.
