Jack’s Daily: Keith’s Hall-of-Fame Caliber Speech; Bedard & Boisvert Honored

While the Chicago Blackhawks had the day off, franchise icon Duncan Keith was officially inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame along with five other players as part of the 2025 class on Monday. The three-time Stanley Cup champion delivered a well-crafted speech while a few former teammates and lifelong friends were in attendance. Also in Blackhawks news, Connor Bedard’s monstrous four-game stretch led to him being named one of the NHL’s stars of the week, and top prospect Sacha Boisvert was also honored by the NCAA’s Hockey East Conference.

Chicago Hockey Now: Chicago will FOREVER run on Duncan. One of the most accomplished players in the Blackhawks’ franchise history, Keith, a two-time Norris Trophy winner, two-time Olympic Gold Medalist, and 2015 Conn Smyth Trophy winner, was officially inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame on Monday evening. Here’s Keith’s full induction speech, as he thanks countless people, sheds a few tears, shares a few laughs, and talks about why hockey is the ultimate team game. It’s a must-watch.

More CHN: After recording ten points (3G, 7A) in a four-game stretch, Connor Bedard was named the NHL’s second star of the week on Monday. Bedard, still only 20, led the Blackhawks to three wins during those four games and is currently tied for second in the NHL with 25 points.

More CHN: ICYMI, Bedard earned another three points in the Blackhawks’ 5-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday, which momentarily vaulted him into the NHL lead in points. The Blackhawks won each of their final three games of their long road trip to go 3-2-1 and earn seven of a possible 12 points.

While Bedard was honored by the NHL, top college prospect Sacha Boisvert was also celebrated by the Hockey East Conference on Monday. Boisvert, currently a sophomore at Boston University, registered four assists in a 5-4 win on Saturday, which led to him being named the Hockey East Co-Player of the Week! Boisvert now has nine points (1G, 8A) through his first eight games with the Terriers.

The Athletic: Only two months remain before each country’s rosters are due for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy. Chris Johnston and Pierre LeBrun broke down the latest they’re hearing around Team Canada’s ongoing Olympic roster battles, and Connor Bedard is seemingly still behind Macklin Celebrini in the depth chart.

More Athletic: Which NHL teams will dump bad contracts and get major salary relief in 2026? Harman Dayal mentioned several clubs, including the Chicago Blackhawks. Chicago has Nick Foligno, Connor Murphy, Jason Dickinson, and more potentially coming off their books at the end of this season, which would give them ample cap space to make moves in the offseason.

Forever Blueshirts: After a dreadful 0-6-1 start at home, in which they were shut out five times, the New York Rangers scored six goals to earn their first win of the season at Madison Square Garden over the Nashville Predators. The Rangers finally feel some confidence.

NHL.com: Speaking of the Predators, Matthew Wood became the first rookie to record a hat trick this season, as he was responsible for all three of Nashville’s goals in their loss to the New York Rangers. Wood is now tied with Ivan Demidov for most goals among all rookies in the NHL.

Florida Hockey Now: The Florida Panthers have the Vegas Golden Knights’ number, as they’ve now won six of the last seven meetings between the two teams. Brad Marchand scored a dazzling goal, while Sergei Bobrovsky made 30 saves to help lift the Panthers to a 3-2 win in Sin City.

Colorado Hockey Now: While Connor Bedard was named the NHL’s second star of the week, the top honor went to Colorado Avalanche superstar Nathan MacKinnon, who is first in the NHL with 29 points this season.

San Jose Hockey Now: Joe Thornton was teammates with Duncan Keith on Team Canada’s 2010 Olympic Gold-Medal squad, and Keith mentioned it was special to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame alongside “Jumbo”. Thornton, one of the best San Jose Sharks of all time, also delivered a sweet and humorous induction speech on Monday.
