Jack’s Daily: Teravainen TBD; Kantserov Keeps Cookin’; Nestrasil’s Big Night
Has the snow stopped falling yet? The Anaheim Ducks have arrived in Chicago and must be freezing with the winter wonderland that’s developed in the last 24 hours. The Chicago Blackhawks look to snap their five-game losing streak in the final game of November, and they might have to do it without a key forward in the lineup. Also in Blackhawks news, Vaclav Nestrasil racked up three points on Saturday, Roman Kantserov scored twice over in Russia, while Nathan Behm recorded his 40th point of the season.

Chicago Blackhawks Recap, News & Tidbits
Chicago Hockey Now: ICYMI, the Blackhawks were unable to snap their losing skid against the last-place Nashville Predators on Black Friday. The return of the black alternate sweaters was overshadowed by an ugly 4-3 loss at the United Center.
More CHN: Joel Quenneville comes to town for the second time since taking over as the Ducks’ head coach. The Blackhawks are looking for their first win in nearly two weeks when they face Anaheim on Sunday afternoon. Teuvo Teravainen, who’s yet to miss a game this season, is listed as questionable after missing Saturday’s practice.
In prospects news, Vaclav Nestrasil scored his eighth and ninth goals of the season and added an assist in UMass’ 5-4 loss to Army. Nestrasil is now tied for second in freshman scoring with 19 points in 16 games.
Over in Russia, Roman Kantserov added to his league lead with two goals on Saturday. Kantersov, still only 21, is the only player in the KHL to have more than 17 goals this season. The former second-round pick now has 21 tallies and sits third in the league with 35 points in 32 games.
In the WHL, Nathan Behm scored his 16th goal of the season and added an assist in the Kamloops Blazers’ 7-5 win. Behm is now second in the league with 41 points through 26 games. His teammate, J.P. Hurlbert, is the only player in the league with more points (48).

The Athletic: Utah Mammoth star forward Logan Cooley was injured in the team’s 1-0 loss to the St. Louis Blues on Saturday. Cooley was on the wrong end of a knee-to-knee hit from Blues forward Alexey Toropchenko in the third period and was forced to exit the contest. Toropchenko received a game misconduct for the hit.
NHL.com: The San Jose Sharks fell 4-3 to the Vegas Golden Knights, but star forward Macklin Celebrini reached a milestone in defeat. Celebrini recorded his 100th career NHL point with an assist on Will Smith’s second goal of the game.
NY Post: Brutal news for the New York Islanders. Kyle Palmieri is set to miss 6-8 months with a torn ACL and will be out for the rest of the season. Palmieri was a key piece of the Islanders’ top-six forward group.
Boston Hockey Now: The good & the bad for the Boston Bruins. The good news? Charlie McAvoy has resumed skating. The bad news? David Pastrnak missed a second straight game.
Detroit Hockey Now: Should the Detroit Red Wings be worried about Patrick Kane? “Showtime” has no goals in his last eight games and is on pace for only ten tallies this season. Kane hasn’t looked the same since returning from injury.
Vegas Hockey Now: Reilly Smith and Brandon Saad are in the dog house. With the Vegas Golden Knights struggling recently, head coach Bruce Cassidy explained why the two forwards were scratched on Saturday night against the Sharks.
Colorado Hockey Now: After having their winning streak snapped by Minnesota, the Colorado Avalanche rebounded with a seven-goal output in a dominant win over the Montreal Canadiens. Brock Nelson and captain Gabriel Landeskog both scored twice.
