It’s the final tuneup before the season opens in Pittsburgh on Tuesday

This is it–the final showdown before the regular season kicks off for the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday in Pittsburgh. It’ll be quite the battle between the Blackhawks and the St. Louis Blues at 7pm tonight on the road.

Blackhawks Quotable

“I was impressed with him from day one of the rookie camp this year. Physical, engaged on the bench, engaged on the ice, plays a hard role with some rugged guys, or go out there and play with skilled guys. [He’s] very versatile and very aware, really listening and any info you that you’ve given him he’s taking it and putting it into his game plan.”

Tonight’s Roster Highlights

There are a lot of subplots outside of the regular bubble players. Defensively, who stays and goes? Will Kevin Korchinski head back to Seattle or will they keep him along for at least nine games? What about Colton Dach, who has been noticeable in every single game he’s played in? Players are fighting for their respective spots on the roster and it’ll be a fun watch seeing how each one reacts in tonight’s contest.

Blackhawks – Blues Look Back

A week ago, the Blackhawks beat a mostly rookie laden St. Louis Blues squad in Chicago 2-1. A week later, the Blackhawks are sending the bubble players out to make their final case before the season takes hold.

What to Watch For In 75 Words Or Less

Many bubble players tonight are playing for a shot on the NHL roster, but they’re pairing things down tonight. Don’t watch the puck as much as the guys, especially Dach, who might have a chance at opening night. Certainly a ton of storylines in the final preseason game.
