Jack’s Daily: Moore Injury Update, Burakovsky Snaps Skid; Oilers Tension
Redemption was a common theme for the Chicago Blackhawks in their 3-2 overtime win over the Utah Mammoth on Monday, where they remained unbeaten against their Central Division foe in three meetings so far this season. With plenty of skirmishes in the final moments of regulation, there should be plenty of tension in the fourth and final matchup on Thursday at the Delta Center.
But back to redemption, both Andre Burakovsky and Frank Nazar redeemed themselves after blowing golden opportunities earlier in the game, scoring clutch goals to help the Blackhawks overcome a 2-1 deficit. Heck, even Andrew Mangiapane is redeeming himself a bit to start his tenure with the Blackhawks after a lousy last two seasons in Washington and Edmonton.
Check out the links for the highlights and a recap of the Blackhawks’ victory at the United Center.
Also in Blackhawks news, head coach Jeff Blashill offered a less-than-ideal update on young center Oliver Moore’s status during his postgame presser.
Around the league, Conor Garland scored his first two goals with the Blue Jackets, a Matthew Knies trade that fell through before the deadline, and reports of some tension between teammates in Edmonton.
All that & more in the Daily!

Following last night’s win over Utah, Jeff Blashill finally provided an update on Oliver Moore, who got injured in the first period of the 4-3 overtime loss to Dallas. According to Blashill, Moore will miss “significant time” due to the injury. Moore will be re-evaluated in a few weeks, but with just one month remaining in the season, one has to wonder if his rookie campaign is over.
