The Daily: Stan Bowman on Calgary’s Radar; Thunderbirds Win

Chicago Blackhawks fans know Stan Bowman very well. The Calgary Flames, writes Steve Macfarlane of Calgary Hockey Now, should stay as far away as possible from him.

Macfarlane insists that the Flames need a leader who will change the culture and Bowman’s handling of the Kyle Beach incident is one reason to steer clear. Macfarlane doesn’t go into detail on the additional reasons they should stay away, but another might be the final few years of his tenure in Chicago from a roster standpoint.

The Calgary Hockey Now scribe mentions that Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman mentioned Pittsburgh as another team interested.

Thunderbirds Tie Series with 4-2 Win

The Seattle Thunderbirds evened the WHL Final with a 4-2 victory over the Winnipeg ICE. Blackhawks prospect Nolan Allan had the primary assist on the insurance goal from Brad Lambert, who potted his second of the game. Both teams rest until Tuesday where they will resume the series in Winnipeg.

Ironically, it was Allan who Bowman picked in his final draft for the Blackhawks back in 2021.
