The Daily: Eichel Has Arrived; Bruins Goalies on the Move?

Published

on

Vegas has a stranglehold on its series with Dallas and is on the cusp of its second Stanley Cup Final in six seasons. A big part of that is Jack Eichel.

It wasn’t too long ago that Eichel was being written off as not being able to reach the potential people had written him in for. Looks like that was wrong. National Hockey Now Editor-in-Chief Dan Kingerski writes for Vegas Hockey Now that Eichel is the star that everyone was waiting for. Eichel’s issue was never seeing success in Buffalo, which as any player will tell you, zaps energy.

As each stage has gotten bigger, so too, has Eichel’s performance. So those prognosticators wringing their hands at his inability to live up to that second overall pick?

Enjoy the show.

Bruins Netminders on the Move?

Linus Ullmark looks like the guy who may be on the move according to Boston Hockey Now’s Jimmy Murphy. In spite of a historical season, the Bruins were bounced in seven games by Florida after holding a 3-1 series lead. The Panthers are now a game from the Stanley Cup Final while the Bruins are looking to settle in on Jeremy Swayman as their top goalie.

Dealing Ullmark would not only give them cap relief, but also net them something valuable back as his stock is likely at its highest following such a successful season.

Blackhawks In Case You Missed It

  • Auston Matthews still has a year left on his deal, but the Maple Leafs may be making changes. Would the Blackhawks be interested if he’s available? And no, it wouldn’t cost the #1 overall pick, either.
  • In the third of the rebuild pieces on how the Chicago Blackhawks got to where they are, the 2018-19 season may have seen more wins, but they missed a chance to make the true changes they needed to.
  • Missed the other two pieces? The first looks at the last great season in 2016-17 that ended with Nashville, and then the end of an era in 2017-18.
