Blackhawks Daily: Oilers Lose in OT; Golden Knights Rolling

The Stanley Cup Playoffs continued in the National Hockey League on Wednesday night and they didn’t disappoint. They were very good with three games going across the two great NHL countries. At sone point Blackhawks fans, it’ll return to Chicago.

The Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs got things started with game three of that series. The Maple Leafs won game two after the Bruins hammered them in game one. For obvious reasons, this game was incredibly important.

Once again, William Nylander was out for this game as he hasn’t played in the series yet. This comes after he had a great regular season playing all 82 games. It is a wild mystery right now. Matthew Knies got the party started in Toronto as he gave them a 1-0 lead at 13:10 of the second period. About four minutes later, however, Trent Frederic scored to get the game all tied up. It went into the third like that.

Jake DeBrusk, who is becoming a great Maple Leafs enemy, put the Bruins ahead about a minute into the third. Tyler Bertuzzi got the game tied ten minutes (of game clock) later.

Brad Marchand, who had an incredible game in terms of gamesmanship, scored the go-ahead goal 28 seconds after Bertuzzi tied it. He did what a good captain does and put the team on his back when he was needed the most. He then added an empty netter and Boston won 4-2.

Jeremy Swayman went back in the net after Linus Ullmark lost game two (despite playing well). Is this where their rotation comes to an end for a while? We will see before game four.

In the second game, the Dallas Stars took a 1-0 lead over the Vegas Golden Knights when Jason Robertson scored. From there, Vegas went to work and did what they do best. They find ways to win hockey games.

Jonathan Marchessault, Noah Hanifin, and Jack Eichel scored three unanswered goals and Vegas now has a 2-0 series lead. Now, they will head back to Las Vegas up 2-0.

This team shines bright in the playoffs and now is their time. They have it all going on as everyone in the lineup seems to be healthy and on top of their game. Winning a back-to-back championship is within reach for this roster.

The nightcap was incredible as it featured the second OT game of the playoffs. The Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings both have all of the big boys going strong.

Once the game reached the overtime period, Connor McDavid and the Oilers had a chance early but they didn’t capitalize. After that, Anze Kopitar scored the overtime game-winning goal. The veteran still has everything in the toolbox to be one of the best two-way players in the game.

All of these games were incredible because they were close and the best players on each team looked to be at their best. It is only going to get more intense from here.
