Blackhawks Daily: Stanley Cup Playoffs Series at 3-0; Vlasic Re-Signs

Published

The Stanley Cup Playoffs had one of its lighter nights so far since it all began last week. There were only two games but they were both very close and fun.  The battle of Florida continued as the Tampa Bay Lightning took on the Florida Panthers. Once again, the Lightning were able to keep it close but they weren’t able to get it done against these Panthers.

This Panthers just can’t be stopped right now. Nothing the Lightning does seems to be good enough.

Matthew Tkachuk has it all going on right now for Florida. He is creating chaos and he is scoring. The Panthers are up 3-0 with a chance to close things out Saturday.

In the other 3-0 series, the Carolina Hurricanes’ depth proved to be too much for the New York Islanders. A lot of Carolina’s stars got on the board in the win and they won it 3-2.

Close to home, Alex Vlasic re-signed for six years with the Blackhawks, keeping the young defenseman in the fold until the end of the decade.

Blackhawks In Case You Missed It

  • The Chicago Blackhawks extended young defenseman Alex Vlasic. This is a great move for both the player and the team.
  • Taylor Raddysh needs to be better for the Chicago Blackhawks if he is going to be a long-term piece of the team.
  • Would Patrick Kane consider coming back to the Chicago Blackhawks at some point? Anything is possible.

Hockey Now Stanley Cup Playoff Focus

  • Boston Hockey Now: The Boston Bruins have a goalie rotation and Jeremy Swayman made his feelings on it known.
  • Colorado Hockey Now: The Colorado Avalanche bounced back in a big way to tie their series against the Winnipeg Jets.
  • Vegas Hockey Now: The Vegas Golden Knights are taking down the Dallas Stars with ease so far. This team looks extra dangerous.
