The Daily: Zadina Clears Waivers; Terasanko Narrowing it Down

Published

on

It’s not every day that a former sixth overall pick hits the waiver wire. 2018’s Filip Zadina did just that on Monday after Detroit Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman couldn’t find any takers for him.

Zadina has experienced some lows in his time with Detroit, but was expected to be a big time scoring threat for the Red Wings. It’s still a few hours before the waiver wire claims are processed–if they are. Chicago Hockey Now laid out the case for why the Blackhawks would take a flier on the 23-year-old forward. Updated: Zadina cleared.

Meanwhile a one-time suggestion for the Blackhawks has narrowed down his teams purportedly to six. Whether or not that signing happens now or later, if Vladimir Tarasenko ends up in Carolina does that make them Stanley Cup favorites?
