Blackhawks Notebook: The Nostalgia Tour Continues

Published

on

Talk about a blast from the past. Chris Chelios, Tony Amonte and even Eric Daze come to mind when the black Blackhawks jerseys are mentioned or shown.

Now they’ll be coming back from the past and likely onto the racks for fans to buy a new one be it Connor Bedard, Seth Jones, or another Blackhawks favorite—sometime in the near future.

CHGO’s Jay Zawaski posted about it following an interview that the CHGO crew had with chairman Danny Wirtz and president of business operations Jamie Faulkner. It’s another nod to the past–that’s being brought into what Chicago hopes will be a very productive future.

Throwback Threads Continue the Blackhawks Historic Work

First it was the announcement that Chris Chelios would see his number retired. Now it’s bringing back the jerseys he and many of the others wore during the 90’s and early 2000’s. Zawaski pointed out that it wouldn’t be this year or possibly even the next.

“The black jersey is coming back at some point,” Zawaski said.

But the jerseys, like the numbers they plan to pull up to the rafters, will be a welcomed addition for the fanbase.

Prospect Showcase Info for the Remainder of the Week

The Blackhawks prospects roster will have another day of practice today before a morning skate on Friday. They’ll then play a pair of games in Minnesota against St. Louis (6pm) on Saturday and then Minnesota on Sunday for a 3pm puck drop.

Connor Bedard should be on the ice for Thursday’s practice. But the real part, which is what all fans will watch, is the livestream that will be available to watch.

Let the games begin.
