Blackhawks Daily: Kane’s Debut in Detroit; CHN on Sirius XM

Published

on

A lot of Chicago Blackhawks news, a little bit of Patrick Kane news and my first ever radio interview–well ever.

First with the Red Wings from Detroit Hockey Now in a game where they led 4-0 and lost 5-4 in overtime–to the San Jose Sharks. Kane banged one off the post but it’s the second game now where the Sharks have roared back to win. DHN’s Bob Duff called it a “wasted” effort of Kane’s first game wearing the Winged Wheel while former Red Wings forward Filip Zadina enjoyed a win against his former mates.

Blackhawks In Case You Missed It

A little cameo on Sirius XM yesterday:

It was a fun time on the Point where I talked a bit about Patrick Kane, the Red Wings, and the Chicago Blackhawks, of course. Was really neat to be asked to be on the show and very appreciated.

Stories you may have missed:

  • The Blackhawks held onto a 1-0 victory to snap a four-game losing streak
  • Postgame Chatter heard that Petr Mrazek has been “a rock” for the Blackhawks this season
  • Luke Richardson is a calming presence for the young Blackhawks core. Don’t be surprised if he ends up behind the bench when the rebuild is nearing its end–and potentially beyond

Western Conference Wrap:

Colorado Hockey Now: What makes Cale Makar the player he is? Not accepting anything but his best. The Colorado Avalanche fell short and Makar called himself out while bench boss Jared Bednar made it clear he needs more star power to shine.

Nashville Hockey Now: Barry Trotz let loose about the Nashville Predators issues with Tyson Barrie. Well now, Barrie has a few things to say himself

Vegas Hockey Now: How do the Vegas Golden Knights keep finding goalies who catch fire? Vegas Hockey Now’s Chris Gawlik takes a look.
