Blackhawks Daily: Trade Market for Goalies?

Published

on

A good little piece from Marc Dumont over at Montreal Hockey Now surveys the landscape for goaltending help that some teams may be seeking. Amongst some of the more interesting teams of course is Edmonton, but they’re in the middle of a seven-game heater and wouldn’t you know it, the Blackhawks are right cue.

But the Carolina Hurricanes desperately need some help right now. Who might help?

Speaking of teams that need help, and not necessarily in the net are the Detroit Red Wings. Fresh off the Patrick Kane signing, the Red Wings are missing captain Dylan Larkin (injury), David Perron (suspension), and JT Compher (injury). It’s no wonder they lost 6-3 to Dallas and may very well be shopping players to get some more help.

The Pittsburgh Penguins meanwhile continue to say major changes aren’t coming, but time certainly is of the essence for a team seeking to keep the playoff window open. Would the rival Philadelphia Flyers deal both members of a defensive pairing?

Plenty to keep an eye on as the roster freeze is just over a week away.
