Blackhawks Daily: Trade Rumors; ‘Fragile’ Teams

Published

on

Would the Chicago Blackhawks consider themselves fragile right now? With injuries and losses piling up, confidence has bene talked about quite a bit. One team that does consider things fragile? The Detroit Red Wings.

Losing its third straight, the Red Wings are trying to recover as injury has also decimated their roster while trying to finally turn a corner in the rebuild process. Meanwhile, Boston Bruins rookie Matt Poitras has been loaned to Team Canada for the World Juniors by the big club. Once looking like a dynamo rookie, Poitras has struggled and while not being “fragile” confidence wise, could potentially use a boost.

One More For the Road

Finally, man does time fly by as Marc-Andre Fleury admits that his time with Pittsburgh Penguins went by rather quickly. Taken first overall in 2003, there was always the question of whether he would really be the elite netminder that deserved to be taken first overall.

From Pittsburgh Hockey Now:

Fleury admitted he pondered briefly the possibility it could be his last game but wanted to stay in the moment and enjoy the moment — and the welcome he’s likely to receive.

“It just feels like time flies so quickly. You know, my time (in Pittsburgh), my career, it’s 20 years, and it feels like — It’s gone by so fast,” said Fleury. It’s insane. I was here. It means I’m very lucky to do something I love. And time goes by quickly … But I’ve kept positive memories from my time here.”

I remember Fleury being the first huge name from my brother’s age group being drafted and getting ready to take the NHL by storm.

Time does indeed fly by.
