Blackhawks Daily: The NHL Trade Deadline Sound Check

The NHL Trade Deadline has come and gone–with some teams being louder than others. The Blackhawks were certainly quiet but so were a number of other teams that are angling for the playoffs or staring down another offseason of hoping and praying for that generational talent that will save the franchise.
The Detroit Red Wings whispered its way through deadline day, one where general manager Steve Yzerman has often made a boom by the end. Instead, Yzerman believes what they need to get into the playoffs is already there. The Vegas Golden Knights, though, were like the fireworks finale display on the Fourth of July. Just when you thought it was over–there was another big move. Noah Hanifin not big enough for you? Fine, they’ll go grab Tomas Hertl just for good measure.
The trade deadline isn’t always the frenzied trade-fest that was once upon a time. But the week–and especially last few days–still provided some entertainment.
Now who benefits most once the Stanley Cup clinching game drops the curtain on the season?
