The Daily: Nick Foligno Still Irked About Sitting Game 7
One of the newest Chicago Blackhawks was brought in to insulate Connor Bedard by showing him the ropes and the best ways to acclimate into the NHL. He also has seen a few things on setback and how to move past them.
Boston Hockey Now has a story with Foligno talking about Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery’s decision to sit him for Game 7 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals against Florida. From the podcast:
““That’s something you don’t prepare yourself for, or even think is gonna happen,” Foligno said. “I mean, that’s something ‘Monty’ (Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery) and I discussed — and I’ll keep that private — but it didn’t sit well with me. I think he knows that. It never will. When you’re a competitor, this is the time of year you play for. That one didn’t really sit well and never will.”
A few months later and still some fire. Suffice it to say Foligno seems like one who won’t accept anything but his best.
