Published

on

The Chicago Blackhawks and Minnesota Wild are set to start at 6pm tonight. It will be the second preseason game for the Blackhawks, who knocked St. Louis off 2-1 on Thursday night.

Blackhawks Quotable

“I think that’s something for the young defenseman to learn is to stay on your forehand as much as possible and make the stronger plays because guys have such great eye-hand coordination in this league. If you lay a little floating past they’re gonna knock it down and it’s coming back at you.”

Chicago Blackhawks head coach Luke Richardson

Tonight’s Roster Highlights

This one doesn’t feature Connor Bedard but returns a few of the rookies from the first preseason game when Chicago came out victorious 2-1. Missing will be veterans Seth Jones and Connor Murphy, and instead, some of the other defensemen jockeying for a spot will get a crack at it. Ethan Del Mastro will get a chance along with Isaak Phillips. Kevin Korchinski and Nolan Allan are both back in the lineup in as many days.

Blackhawks Look Back

The Wild are 2-1 in the preseason so far and finished last season 46-25-11 placing third in the Central. They were bounced in the first round by Dallas. They swept the Blackhawks in four games during the regular season.

Momentum. It’s not so much for the team but more for the younger players trying to make their statement. Keep an eye on Korchinski who has a chance to really cinch his place on the roster with a strong performance tonight.
