The Corey Perry story has reached its conclusion. The Chicago Blackhawks have put him on unconditional waivers, with the purpose of terminating his contract.

From the Blackhawks official statement:

“After an internal investigation, the Chicago Blackhawks have determined that Corey Perry has engaged in conduct that is unacceptable, and in violation both of the terms of his Standard Player’s Contract and the Blackhawks’ internal policies intended to promote professional and safe work environments. As such, Corey Perry has been placed on unconditional waivers. In the event Mr. Perry clears waivers, we intend to terminate his contract effective immediately.”

Perry a Healthy Scratch Since Wednesday

The team scratched Perry prior to the 7-3 loss to Columbus last Wednesday. After what was described an organizational decision, Perry’s agent released a statement via X (formerly Twitter) that he was attending to personal issues with his family, and requested privacy.

Today marks the end of Perry’s Blackhawks career, which even if he clears waviers, will see his contract terminated.
