Blackhawks Call Up Boris Katchouk As Raddysh Heads to IR

It sure as heck seems like one step forward and two more back for the Chicago Blackhawks this season when it comes to the roster. Taylor Raddysh heads to the IR while Boris Katchouk returns from Rockford. Following the Blackhawks 5-4 loss to Dallas last night, head coach Luke Richardson commented that it was a lower body injury that kept Raddysh out from the second period on.

As it’s been for most of the season now, the next man is up.

Catching up with Boris Katchouk

In six games with Rockford, Boris Katchouk has three goals and five points to go with the two goals and two assists he had in Chicago during his first 17 games. Now he slots back in with a chance to solidify his position as another forward heads out to heal.

Raddysh for his part appeared in all 35 games for the Blackhawks this season with five goals and five assists. So now, aside from Katchouk, there are a number of forwards who could be sliding up and down to fill the gap.

It seems just as the Blackhawks begin to settle in, there’s another twist due to injury as now it’ll be finding the right combinations again for head coach Luke Richardson and his staff.

The Blackhawks play again tomorrow against Dallas before notching another three road games to kick off the 2024 slate of games. They’ll return home Sunday to take on the Flames and then the anticipated Connor McDavid and Connor Bedard matchup Tuesday January 9th.

But for now, the Blackhawks see another forward hit the injury list while another gets a chance to carve out a longer time with the big club.
