Must See: Connor Bedard Scores His 20th Goal of the Season
CHICAGO – Connor Bedard notched his 20th goal of the season in 52 games. Imagine what he have done with 82.
Bedard buried the goal in the dying seconds of the second period giving the Blackhawks a 4-2 advantage. Bedard poked the puck away, and it was retrieved by Nick Foligno, who protected and then dished to Philipp Kurashev. Bedard was waiting in the left circle and unleashed a one-timer from Kurashev that nabbed his 20th.
He’s now the 18th rookie in Blackhawks history to reach the 20-goal plateau. With his 20th goal in his 52nd game, Bedard is in pretty good company when it comes to finding the scoresheet in his rookie campaign.

Alex DeBrincat scored his 20th in 56 games back in 2017. Patrick Kane notched his 20th in game 81. Jonathan Toews potted his in his 55th game. It was game 59 for Artemi Panarin during his rookie campaign. Not bad for the 18-year-old who missed 14 games to break his season up a bit. It’s also more impressive for Bedard because the team he’s on is not nearly as strong as the ones Toews, Kane, DeBrincat, or Panarin were on.
All had winning records while Bedard has carried the Blackhawks offensively in his rookie campaign. Connor Bedard did it 2/3 of the way to completing his 52nd game.
Connor Bedard Stays Hot With Six Points in His Last Two Games
He now has six points in his last two games–a two-goal performance against Arizona that narrowly missed a hat trick. Bedard also had an assist.
As of this writing, he has two assists along with the goal, and is now just a point shy of 50 for the season.
Tabbed as a can’t miss generational player when he was drafted, Bedard hasn’t disappointed on a team angling for its 18th victory of the season in 66 games.
Imagine what he’ll be doing when the Blackhawks presumably return to prominence.
