Scouting the Opponent & Miscellaneous Musings

The Blackhawks have a legitimate shot to earn their third straight win–which would be a first this season. 6-4 in their last ten, the Hawks are heading into their final ten games winning more in this stretch than they have for the majority of the season.

Storylines heading into tonight’s contest: can they pull off another road win–a spot where they’ve struggled all season long? The 5-4 comeback win over the San Jose Sharks built some momentum, carrying over into the brief home stand of a single game before heading back onto the road. Chicago has a three-game set on the road and then return home where four of those five games are at the United Center–and closes out the home schedule.

Connor Bedard is also one to watch–as he continues to climb up the charts for rookie points in a season. With an assist on Tuesday, Bedard now has 56 points in 58 games, with 21 finding the back of the net. He’s six points shy of catching Darryl Sutter for fifth all time and now within 10 of tying Jeremy Roenick.

Finally, how about Slaggert, who enjoyed a heck of a game against Calgary. Could he find that first goal tonight, something that eluded him in two unique ways on Tuesday?

Plenty to watch for tonight with ten games left to go.
