Blackhawks Daily: Draisaitl Is On Fire; Hayes To Rockford

Published

on

The Chicago Blackhawks are in a good spot as an organization when it comes to top prospects. With Connor Bedard leading the way, there is a lot to look forward to.

Gavin Hayes is one of those players. After a strong season in the OHL, he is now ready for pro hockey. He has reported to the Rockford Ice Hogs now and should get going there too.

Speaking of top prospects, the Hawks should be adding another good one soon. They will find out the results of the lottery on May 7th. Chicago will either pick 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th.

Building up the organization will eventually get this team back into the Stanley Cup Playoffs. As you watch this year’s edition of the tournament, it is hard not to get excited about the Hawks being involved again.

The New York Rangers showed their resiliency again in game three as they went down 1-0 early but managed to come back and win. They now have a 3-0 series lead over the Washington Capitals.

As that game was going on, the series between the Nashville Predators and Vancouver Canucks continued into game three. Despite being outshot 30-12, the Canucks found a way to win 2-1. It has been spectacular luck for them as they managed to hang on for a 2-1 series lead. They easily could be down 0-3.

The Winnipeg Jets and Colorado Avalanche moved their series to Denver where the Avalanche were the best home team in the NHL this season. After going down 2-1, Colorado climbed up to win 6-2.

Finally, the Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings moved to sunny California after some time in cold Edmonton. The Oilers had to prove some people wrong here.  Edmonton went off in this game. Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and Zach Hyman all exploded to help this team win 6-1. It was an impressive showing of dominance over the Kings who just had no chance in this one.

McDavid leads playoff scoring with 9 points but Leon Draisaitl is also on another level. If Edmonton were to win the Stanley Cup, there is a world where Draisaitl is the Conn Smythe Trophy winner.

Blackhawks In Case You Missed It

  • Joey Anderson has been taking full advantage of the chance given to him by the Chicago Blackhawks. We’ll see where that leads him going forward.
  • Kyle Davidson has been one of the best GMs in the NHL lately. Some of his recent moves will prove to be impressive for this team.
  • Alex Vlasic is looking like a pillar for the Chicago Blackhawks blue-line going forward. His new contract will prove to be incredible for the organization.
