The Daily: Taylor Hall Skating in Charity Event for Former Coach

Published

on

Much of the NHL is coming together for a good cause. Detroit Hockey Now’s Bob Duff writes that a charity hockey game will be played in Ottawa Senators assistant coach Bob Jones’ honor following his ALS diagnosis. Along with many other NHL stars, Taylor Hall is one of those players suiting up, a former Spitfire himself. Associate head coach Bob Boughner, who is close friends with Jones, is responsible for getting the game off the ground along with Ottawa head coach D.J. Smith.

Hall skated for the Spitfires from 2007-2010 before going first overall to Edmonton in the 2010 NHL Draft. He also won two Memorial Cups in 2009 and 2010. Jones’s first three years of coaching at Windsor were with Hall.

Tickets are available to the event and start at $12. The puck drops at 2pm on August 12th. It’s also a chance for any Taylor Hall fans to get a sneak peek of what he’ll bring to Chicago.
