The Daily: Blackhawks Camp Opens Today; Roster Battles

Training camps across the league are opening which makes way for the preseason, and then finally, a regular season slate of games. This obviously includes the Chicago Blackhawks, who open today.

In Detroit, general manager Steve Yzerman expects many of the “Yzerplan” prospects to challenge for spots. In Pittsburgh, a familiar face returns. Camp in Boston sees a new captain with Brad Marchand.

Here at Chicago Hockey Now, I’m excited to cover my first full season of hockey. It’s a blast being able to be part of it and beyond that, I look forward to looking at different angles and not only keeping tabs on the Blackhawks, but also the prospects scattered throughout the world.

Here’s to what can be an exciting year.
